Project Overview: Powering Commercial Offices with a 45kVA Three-Phase Generator
In June 2024, Target Power successfully delivered a tailored power solution to Northeast Dealer, a business needing consistent and reliable electricity for a commercial office complex. The project centered around the TY45 Yanmar-powered 45kVA prime generator, built with a 200 amp Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), to ensure seamless power transfer and eliminate downtime during grid outages.
The generator is powered by a Yanmar 4TNV98T-GGEA diesel engine, paired with a Stamford alternator and a DSE 6120 control panel. This robust combination is housed in a soundproof generator canopy designed to ensure proper airflow and temperature regulation.
Application: Reliable Power for Office Operations
The generator was required to power the electrical systems of the office complex, a critical need to support lighting, computers, air conditioning, and other essential office functions. The 45kVA prime / 49.5kVA standby generator was selected for its reliability and efficiency in commercial settings. This three-phase unit is capable of handling significant loads and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the office.
Overcoming Challenges: Custom Silent Canopy Design for Airflow
One of the main challenges faced was the need for a compact design that could still deliver the necessary power output. Our engineering team custom-designed the canopy to fit the CKD arrangement while allowing for sufficient airflow. This modification ensures that the generator operates efficiently without overheating, even in continuous operation.

The Yanmar 4TNV98T-GGEA engine was specifically chosen for its industry-leading reliability, backed by a 5-year standby warranty. This long-term warranty provides the customer with confidence in the longevity and performance of the generator, crucial for minimizing operational disruptions in their office environment.

Target Power managed the entire process from design and assembly to delivery. The 200 amp ATS, equipped with a Terasaki contactor, ensures smooth transition during power outages, protecting sensitive office equipment. Delivery to the site was carried out using a Target Power vehicle, ensuring safe and timely arrival.

From the initial inquiry to delivery, the project took a total of 6 weeks, including 4 weeks of assembly. Despite the need for a customized design, Target Power delivered the solution on time and within budget, exceeding the client’s expectations for a reliable commercial power source.
