Project Overview – Super Silent Diesel Generator Powering a Residential Property
Target Power Generators was recently contacted by a mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractor to provide a super silent diesel generator solution. The generator needed to achieve 65 dBA at 1 meter because it was being used at a residential property. It had to be single phase and produce 35 kVA of prime power. The customer also wanted to monitor the generator remotely, so we fitted an 8-relay extension for the client.
Products Needed: TB38-1 35kVA Baudouin powered diesel generator, single phase 240V, automatic transfer switch.
Application: Emergency standby Diesel generator for a residential estate.
Project Completion: 12 weeks, March 2024.
Project Details
Our client chose Target Power because we offer customizable diesel generator solutions. We were able to demonstrate that we were capable of meeting the client’s request for 65 dBA at 1 meter. The client was on a budget but also wanted the best possible quality. Warranty was important, so we used the Baudouin engine, which comes with a 4-year standby warranty.
Super Silent Diesel Generator:
To achieve the low noise level, we upgraded our standard canopy to a 10 cm thick canopy, which allowed us to achieve the desired noise levels. The steel was upgraded to 3 mm, and we used high-quality soundproofing material in the enclosure to drastically reduce the noise level. Meeting EU Legislation:
We understand that different markets require different generator builds. In the EU, our sets come with a standby kit as standard, which includes automatic mains failure (AMF) and a water jacket heater. Therefore, this generator for Ireland was manufactured to UK and EU specifications, including a 4-pole breaker, earthed neutral link, bunded base, high-grade sound insulation, and more.
Transportation:
Our client also needed help transporting the generator to Ireland. With over 25 years of experience in transporting generators, we were able to find our client a cost-effective road transportation solution.
Project Completion:
Our client allowed us 12 weeks to produce the set. This timeframe provided us with sufficient time to design and manufacture the special super silent generator to their specifications. Furthermore, because the client wanted an 8-relay extension, we designed the control box to accommodate it.
